UK Window Tinting Laws

In the United Kingdom, you can have as much tint on your REAR windows as you like. On the front driver and passenger side windows, your glass must allow 70% of light to pass through. On the windscreen, it must allow 75% of light to pass through. Unfortunately, all cars from the factory come already on this legal limit, if any film is applied to the front three windows, they will be illegal. Window Tints are always fitted to the inside of the glass. The film is prepped and cut on the outside before being applied to the inside of the glass.

The choice of shade depends on your personal preference and reasons for tinting the car. We would say our most popular shade chosen is 5%. This is mainly due to people wanting tints for privacy and security reasons.

We recommend you don’t put your windows down for 3-5 days. This is to ensure the tint is fully healed and dry.

Yes, window tints can be removed. If you would like us to remove your tints get in touch and we will let you know how much that will cost. If you would like to have a go yourself, we would recommend you use a heat gun and some glue remover.
